Emma Ratcliff, NZ Registered Occupational Therapist (NZROT)
Emma received her Occupational Therapy training in Melbourne, Australia. She moved to New Zealand in 2002 and worked in Christchurch for over ten years as a paediatric occupational therapist, focusing her practice on working with children who have developmental difficulties, including Specific Learning Disabilities, Developmental Dyspraxia/ Developmental Coordination Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Sensory Processing Disorder and Developmental Delays.
Over that time, Emma’s practice has expanded to include working with adults who have learning difficulties, Dyspraxia, Asperger’s and sensory processing issues. Emma runs professional development workshops for teachers and parents to better understand sensory motor development, children’s developmental needs and working with sensory processing and developmental issues in different environments.
Emma’s approach incorporates education and working 1:1 with sensory motor development, as well as engaging parents and teachers to enable children to achieve their potential in different areas of their lives, including at school, socially and within their whanau.
Emma is passionate about supporting children’s developmental and learning needs as well as working with students and adults to support their success in all areas of their life, including learning, social and general development.
Emma is available at Kidz Therapy Ltd on Thursday and Friday’s for assessment, 1:1 Occupational Therapy work and consultation for both children and adults.
