Chris is a registered member of the New Zealand Speech-Language Therapist’s Association (RMNZSTA).
Chris joined the Kidz Therapy team in 2020, previously having worked for the Ministry of Education and Young Life Trust as a Speech-Language Therapist and Youth Worker respectively.
Chris provides comprehensive assessments of communication difficulties including speech sound difficulties; oral-motor difficulties; expressive and receptive language delay; stuttering; cognitive-communication delay; social skill deficits and delays, and acquired difficulties as a result of trauma or injury. Chris is passionate about running therapy groups as well as offering individual therapy, particularly groups focusing on the development of social skills or Lego therapy groups aimed at increasing language understanding and use.
Chris employs a strengths-based approach in his clinical work, helping individuals with communication difficulties to reach their potential.
Chris is also skilled in delivering Professional Learning Development workshops to those supporting individuals who struggle with communication to ensure all the significant people in an individual’s life are able to work harmoniously and consistently towards the same goal of success for the individual concerned.
Outside of therapy, Chris has a keen interest in music and writing as creative outlets.
