Kidz Social Skills group (11-15 year olds) is 6-week course will focus on helping children in an empowering, friendly and safe group setting.
The group work will focus on understanding and practising how language is used in a different context, the unspoken rules of language, social cues (both verbal and nonverbal), how to problem solve, how to maintain friendships, exploring the theory of mind, e.g, particularly focussing on behaviours which could be perceived as bullying, one example is feedback versus insults. Other topics including how to repair communication breakdowns request clarification, role-playing certain situation, understanding emotions, improving resilience and more.
The course will be led by Chris (reg Speech-language therapist) who has plentiful experience in supporting and empowering children to increase their understanding of language and how it is used.

When: Mondays, February, 15th, 22nd, March 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd from 4-5 p.m.
Who: Children 11-15 years (some leeway on age)
