Our team’s passion lies in helping individuals and families be the best they can be. We strive to ensure that our guiding principle, ‘everyone counts’ is reflected in our therapist's work with each and every client.
But enough from us. We asked some of our clients what we're good at. Here’s what they have to say...
We could get Sophie the help she needed at the right time.
"Marie’s assessment of Sophie early on in her schooling meant that we could make sure she got the help she needed at the right time. The early intervention ignited an absolute love of learning for her!
She’s now in Year 13 with English, Art History and Biology academic awards rolling out her ears. A massive thank you for setting us on the correct path!"
Mum of Sophie, Year 13 student
Your work has helped Lucy understand her true abilities.
"Thank you for the time and care you’ve taken with completing Lucy’s report. It is thorough and complimentary of her skills.
We couldn’t be happier with Lucy’s progress and how your work has helped her understand her true abilities. Thank you again for being such a positive influence for me and my daughter’s educational journey."
Mum of Lucy Year 10 student
Thank you for treating Ryan with kindness and respect.
"I was quite worried before the assessment due to Ryan’s reaction to the previous one elsewhere. However, he was very happy after this assessment!
I relayed to him the content of the report (he wouldn’t willingly read something that long) and he was very happy about it. I also agreed with your findings. Hearing that he is good, and even gifted in some areas really boosted his confidence.
Thank you for your work and for treating Ryan with kindness and respect."
Megan, mother of Ryan, aged 16
Practical, easy to understand report.
"Your report on our son was incredibly practical and easy for us to understand. I’m so impressed and grateful for the care and insight that the report demonstrates."
Dad of Josh, Year 9 student
We now have a map to support Jennifer's learning.
"Thank you for the report on Jennifer. Kelly and I have spent some time reading it (several times). We have have found it most helpful and are busy introducing the ideas contained within it.
We now have a map of how to support her learning and her confidence and I think we are making progress in both regards. Thanks also for your lovely interaction with Jennifer. She enjoyed meeting with you as did we."
Dad of Jennifer, Year 12 student

We have changed James' options to suit his strengths.

We have the highest praise for the splendid person and most competent professional Narelle
"We wish to extend to Narelle and Kidz Therapy our heartfelt gratitude for the difference their work made in our daughter’s life. We have the highest praise for the splendid person and most competent professional Narelle has been with our daughter, who wouldn’t have accepted anyone less as a support and in our opinion had not benefitted from previous counselling.
Great job, Narelle. Great job!"
Mum of Anxious daughter, age 18
Hilary has been a wonderful, trusted support to my son and I.
"Hilary has been working with my 17 year old son for the last 10 years. Initially, this was play therapy and has now evolved to just talking together. I have seen such a change over the years.
With Hilary’s help, my son has become skilled in expressing his feelings, developed good empathy for others and is much better able to regulate his emotions.
Hilary has been a wonderful trusted support to both my son and our family as we navigated through the various challenges of each age and stage. I consider her to be one of the best supports we put in place to help our son to grow and flourish."
Mum of George, age 17

Marie and the team have very high levels of professionalism in their work and do everything they can to work with the young person and their family and provide the best possible support and service. I cannot recommend Hilary highly enough.
"My son has been seeing Hilary for about a year and a half and he always remembers which day is Hilary day.
It means a lot to me that he enjoys the sessions and that he feels comfortable talking with Hilary. My sense is that the time with Hilary gives him space to talk about what's on his mind without having to worry about how those thoughts might affect his family. From time to time I have also sought Hilary's advice in relation to my son and she has held a wonderful line of respecting his confidentiality, guiding him to talk with me and helping me to get perspective on particular issues. I cannot recommend Hilary highly enough.

James is more balanced and able to express himself in healthy ways.
"Narelle, thank you for touching base. This lockdown down has been chalk and cheese compared to last one. James has been great and we have both been able to problem solve better when he has big feelings.
In general since therapy he’s a lot more balanced and able to express himself in healthy ways. It really has been a positive change that I am so grateful for."
Mum of James, age 10
You played a significant role in a really difficult time.
"The sessions with Narelle where the three of us chatted and worked out strategies has been absolutely invaluable. It's always felt like a really open space, centred on Ollie (as it should be).
They also challenged me (and I believe Ollie) in a really respectful way that has led to lasting change with how we interact as father-son. I frequently think of the things you have said in sessions in the moment, which makes me stop, breathe(!) and really think about how I approach things.
Ollie seems to have grown up so much, and you played a significant role in a really difficult time for all of us, but particularly Ollie."
Jason, father of Ollie, aged 16
Thank you for your wonderful help.
"Thank you, Kidz Therapy, for the wonderful help with my daughter. A few years on and she’s gone on to be a school teacher. I’m not sure whether she would have gotten there without your help and I often tell people about Kidz Therapy."
Megan, mother of Taylor, now aged 22
Your support, guidance and patience has been amazing.
"Helen, thank you so much for all you have done for Trinity, the simple tips have worked a treat. We have absolutely appreciated everything you have done with regards to our girl. Your support, guidance and patience has been amazing and we can’t thank you enough."

Freya is back to her happy, confident and curious self.
"Maggie made a massive difference to the wellbeing of my 11-year-old daughter who was suffering from anxiety and depression.
After attending Art Therapy for a couple of months she was back to her previous self - happy, confident, curious and excited about life again. She really looked forward to her Art Therapy sessions and was quick to trust Maggie with her vulnerabilities despite otherwise being an immensely private young girl.
In my opinion, this connection and healing was possible due to the warmth of Maggie's character along with her skills as an artist and as a therapist. The beautiful creations that they made together helped my daughter rediscover her self-assurance. I entered her into Art Therapy sessions having no idea what to expect. I would now recommend it to any parent as a wonderful way to make meaningful change to a child's perception of themselves and their world. In summary, I highly recommend Maggie's services - she is truly wonderful."
Kelly, mother of Freya aged, 11
My 4 year old can now express the feelings going on inside her
"Through their Art Therapy sessions, my child is slowly finding the right words to be able to express the feelings going on inside them. By having the words to share, we are finding they calm down quite quickly".
Mum to 4 year old client working 1:1 with Jordan
Working collboratively with teachers
"Jordan’s written and creative support was outstanding. I was grateful for every drop of information"
Teacher's feedback
A total transformation in Theo after Art Therapy.
At the outset we had an extremely unsettled learner in Theo. He had extreme irregular sleep patterns, sudden outbursts of anger, biting self, hitting others. Overall, he was extremely disruptive on a daily basis.
Maggie was the Art Therapist who worked with Theo. She was extremely caring and quickly established a rapport with Theo. Maggie also interacted professionally with me at all times and was punctual and prompt with her sessions.
Today, Theo is a settled, happy and engaging learner. A total transformation from who he once was.
Katherine, learning support at Manurewa Primary School
5 year can now calm herself down using techniques taught by Jordan
"The introduction of creative and therapeutic art making has been a real hit. My daughter has used the resources introduced to her a handful of times over the last 4 weeks to calm herself down, both prompted and unprompted".
Mum to 5 year old client
Will definitely always recommend Kidz Therapy
"Over the years, I have been with my daughters to see different staff members of Kidz Therapy, which have all been fantastic in their own right. We have recently just finished 8 great weeks of art therapy sessions with Jordan, and we are very happy. Will definitely always recommend Kidz Therapy

Maggie has given Maddie the skills to overcome her fears and become more confident.
"Working with Maggie has been amazing for Maddie and our family.
She has given Maddie the skills to overcome her fears and become more confident has changed her life for the better.
We were really struggling as a family when she first started seeing Maggie and she has helped to get our family back on track.
I love that she trusts Maggie completely and feels confident to share her feelings and what is happening in her life.
It makes me feel at ease to know that she was able to talk to Maggie about anything.
Doing art therapy was an excellent way of getting Maddie to talk without putting her on the spot and making her feel uncomfortable.
Maggie has related extremely well to Maddie and they have built up a strong relationship.
Thank you so much for the opportunity to work with Maggie at Kidz Therapy.
Heather, mother of Maddie aged 12 with ASD
Working with severe trauma.
"Jordan worked with a young boy who had experienced severe trauma. He came to her as a child who found it difficult to connect with new people, especially adults. He was an angry and resentful boy.
Jordan demonstrated patience and was quietly persistent until she eventually connected with him through Creative Arts Therapy. Her offering of artistic skills, creativity and imagination allowed her to plan, prepare and offer interesting and engaging activities for him to be able to express himself through".
Testimonial from a Teacher.
Therapy for anxiety while having fun!
"After experiencing a lot of anxiety and behaviour issues last year, our child has been gifted a team of support including Jordan as her art therapist. Jordan been a great support and guide for her to have a much better year at school.
Their art therapy sessions always sound like they are having lots of fun and allowing my child to be confident in who she is.
Mum to daughter coping with anxiety
Thanks to your advice, I have been able to remain patient and calm.
"Karen, thank you for meeting with us. We are so please with our discussion and the tips and advice you have given us.
We have had 2/2 amazing days with Samuel. He has completed all the school work I’ve asked him to. Thanks to your advice, I have been able to remain patient calm with Samuel and it has made the world of difference.
Samuel has said several times that he feels happy. So pleased to hear this and see my sweet boy happy and enjoying his time with me. Amazingly, there has been no aggression or outbursts!
Kate, mother of Samuel, Year 3
I wish we had Courageous Kids every week.
"A quote from Harry this morning…’I wish we had courageous kids every week, why is it only 6 weeks?’ From someone who I had to drag into the room, that’s high praise."
Mum of Harry, aged 9

Overall, Talia is a happier, more well adjusted child after attending the Art Therapy holiday course.
"Your Art Therapy holiday course was amazing!
We have noticed a real improvement in our daughter’s anxiety levels and happiness after each session. Her psychosomatic pain has noticeably decreased and she is much happier overall.
Even her little sister has noticed that Talia is more patient and more willing to play in the afternoons. Overall, she’s a happier, more well-adjusted child after attending the course."
Joanne, mum of Talia, aged 11
